Va. unemployment likely to stay high as state recovers
Virginia is on a long road to recovery after the recession, but unemployment is likely to remain high this year and next, according to a forecast released yesterday by The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis. Virginia would need to add 12,000 jobs every month for the next two years to return to pre-recession employment levels, said Michael Cassidy, executive director of the institute.
